ASX, BIOTECHS UP: PSIVIDA UP 14%

THE MARKET
Seventeen of the Biotech Daily Top 40 stocks were up, 14 stocks fell and nine traded unchanged. Eleven of the Top 20 rose and eight fell, while six of the Second 20 rose and six fell. All falls were less than four percent.
Psivida was best, up three cents or 13.95 percent to 24.5 cents with 4.1 million shares traded. Acrux climbed eight cents or 8.42 percent to $1.03 with just under one million shares changing hands, Neuren was up 4.5 cents or 8.26 percent to 59 cents and Alchemia was up 8.5 cents or 7.69 percent to $1.19 with 597,212 shares traded.
Biosignal, Mesoblast, Peplin and Pharmaxis were all down more than three percent; Novogen, Polartechnics, Portland and Resmed fell more than two percent; with CSL, Evogenix, Metabolic, Optiscan, Phosphagenics and Prana down more than one percent.
