INTERSUISSE ASIA PACIFIC LIFE SCIENCE FORUM
Several companies have released corporate presentations and investor updates at the Intersuisse sponsored Asia Pacific Life Science Forum in London on October 12.

Metabolic chief executive officer Dr Roland Scollay is in the UK to present at the Forum and will meet European analysts, investors and other parties, in order to increase awareness of Metabolic. Metabolic says the forum provides Australian biotechnology companies an opportunity to present to a group of specialist European investors with an interest in Australia.

Yesterday Bionomics’ head of cancer research, Dr Gabriel Kremmidiotis, told the UK National Cancer Research Institute conference in Birmingham that a single 10mg/kg injection of BNC105 disrupted more than 95 percent of the blood vessels supplying the tumor.
Today Bionomics chief executive office Dr Deborah Rathjen will present a general overview of her company at the Asia Pacific Life Science Forum.

Polartechnics is also at the Asia Pacific Life Science Forum and has released a corporate presentation detailing the company’s renaissance.
The presentation describes the company’s history as “breakthrough engineering falters at initial commercialization”.
Listed in 1987, the scientist-run biotechnology research organization created “award winning worldwide patented” cervical and skin cancer screening devices but initial commercialization efforts were ineffective.
Polartechnics said that late in 2005 the company appointed a commercially experienced senior executive, whose aim is to “convert Polartechnics from an Australian biotech research company to a platform for global commercialization of products and services in women’s health and skin therapies”.

Other companies presenting at the conference are Agenix, Biota, Chemeq, Peptech, Proteome, Starpharma and Uscom.

Separately, Pharmaxis has released an updated corporate presentation highlighting its lead products Aridol for the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease as well as the Bronchitol therapeutic for cystic fibrosis and COPD.
